The difference with the standard “LeBallon” in neutral foil only concerns the packaging. “LeBallon Alcowise” is packaged in a transparent foil with a card included. The back of this card shows the possible result of a breath test, i.e. below or above the limit.

LeBallon works very simply: remove the tube from the edge of the balloon, inflate the balloon, compress the ends of the tube. Connect to the balloon and push the air in the balloon through the tube. Within a minute you can read the result from the discoloration of the crystals.

From September 21, 2017, chemical products such as Le Ballon must meet the requirements of the REACH regulations with regard to the protection of people and the environment. Contralco is the first manufacturer to meet the new strict requirements of both the European REACH regulation and the French standard NFX20-702 (version 2014).
The new product is not only chrome-free but also:
- MORE READABLE: the new reagent is white and turns red in the presence of alcohol. This makes reading the color contrast even easier.
- EASIER: Reading becomes easier because there is no longer a central ring to see if the discoloration has gone beyond the limit. As soon as discoloration occurs, the permitted limit has been exceeded. If there is no discoloration, the user is below the limit. The reading is therefore more objective.
- EASIER: Using the product is also easier. It no longer matters which way the tube is inserted into the balloon. One cannot be wrong anymore.
- FASTER: The reagent is faster than that of the current product. The color change occurs in less than a minute at room temperature, while with the current reagent it takes 2-15 minutes.
